1 Methodological aspects

Definition of new methodologies and practices for immersive design. Definition of new interaction modalities with virtual environments based on immersive, multimodal, multi-sensorial, distributed and collaborative techniques.
2 Specifications of the integrated system
Responsible: SPACI
Definition of scenarios in which several users cooperate in design, analysis product, simulation activities by means of an immersive environment which offers the opportunity to interact with the physics-based virtual prototype of the product through sight, vocal and sound inputs and haptic. Definition of the specifications of the new integrated system based on the use of the GRID platform and of the infinite bandwidth infrastructure.
3 Haptic interfaces

Study, development, testing and validation of innovative haptic interfaces to be used for the definition and the modification of the product virtual model and for the ergonomic and functional verification (assembly/disassembly) of the product itself.
4 Testing environment
Responsible: think3
Definition and development of an environment for the functional and usability validation of methods, systems, hardware and software devices developed in the previous phases. The validation environment will be defined on the basis of a Design & Style case study applied to the automotive field, and which will be proposed by Elasis.
