Available PhD/Post-doctoral positions at Department of Mechanical Engineering Politecnico di Milano. 
Research positions are available to conduct activities in the fields of Haptic and Augmented Reality technologies and related applications on engineering and industrial design.
Two post-doctoral positions refer to the development of an innovative haptic system used as an input device for virtual shape modelling in the context of the industrial design area. Fellows will collaborate in designing architecture of new mechatronic devices, building them by assembling commercial components, and developing software required for the control. The research is funded by the European Commission and by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. 
Two post-doctoral positions are also available in the area of AR applications for product design and simulation. Fellows will collaborate in the definition of the application architecture, developing and integrating visualization libraries, image processing software and tracking system, and will be involved in the implementation of test cases. Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary research group of scientists already working in the area of haptics, VR/AR technologies, shape modeling and multimodal human computer interaction.  
Post-doctoral positions are available for 2-3 years. Fellowship grant is approximately 20.000 € per year.

Education 
Doctoral degree or Degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic or information technology engineering, computer science or equivalent. 

Experience
Knowledge of computer programming, computer graphics methods, geometric and shape modeling, electronic components, advanced mathematics and mechanics.
